Unfortunately, most humidifiers fall short of those standards. “There’s a missing product on the market,” Mr. Ransmeier said. “Something people can actually place on their radiators, just to evaporate water: it’s passive, it’s the most energy-efficient option you could possibly have, and it’s what people used to do.”
Such an item (essentially a pan of water that attaches to the top of a radiator) can be difficult to find today, so Mr. Ransmeier went in search of modern options.
